For better understanding how myths and legends arose, we have to make an effort, transfer us in the tunnel of time toward the past, and try to think like the primitive men thought.
These men observed the phenomena of nature without understanding it. They did not have the support of science that by then, did not exist.
With myths and legends, men explained the seasons of the year, rains, floods and droughts, rays, seaquakes and earthquakes. They explained beauty, love, wars, death, and many other mysteries that could not understand. All those enigmas and mysteries were attributed to the Gods in the shape of myths and legends.
These myths were exalted as a form of religion. For that reason, men built marvelous temples to their favorite gods, erected statues to them and even offered sacrifices to gain their friendship or to obtain some favor.
